The Oscars is a prestigious film event which has been running since 1929, the first awards however were not as huge as they are today. The awards themselves have always been broadcast to the public, this was first done via radio transmition and then via TV from the year 1950 onwards. The awards are also known as the Academy Awards. Even the stars who haven’t won an award or even been nominated for one, often get to present an award.
